NORTH NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL (PUBLIC FOOTPATH GC13 – BRAYBROOKE)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that North Northamptonshire Council have made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that length of Public Footpath GC13in Braybrooke as specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said length of footpath are unaffected.
RIGHT OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: The route to be closed starts on Public Footpath GC13 at point A on the map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 7569 8440, at the footpath’s junction with Oxendon Road. It then runs in a generally north-westerly direction across two tilled fields for approximately 1,180 metres to ‘Point B’, on the border of this Authority’s area with West Northamptonshire Council, at (NGR) SP 7464 8491.
This section is indicated on the TRO plan by a solid black line between ‘Point A’ and ‘Point B.
REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of health and safety due to the temporary re-alignment of the footpath onto the more desirable route while a permanent order is completed.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 7th March 2025 and will continue in force for a period of six months. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: The alternative route to be used commences at the same ‘Point A,’ at (NGR) SP 7569 8440 where it begins in a generally north-easterly direction for 123 metres to ‘Point C’ at (NGR) SP 7576 8450 , before turning in a north-westerly direction for 1,194 metres to ‘Point D’ at (NGR) SP 7476 8503. It would then continue in a generally south-westerly direction for 170 metres to meet ‘Point B’ at (NGR) SP 7464 8491.
